Organizing Chair Datuk Dayang Hajah Khatijah Datu Bachtiyal said the event was aimed at boosting the tourism industry which has been devastated by the pandemic.

“We feature smaller and lesser-known rural tourism players because they haven’t been featured as much, like rabbit and alpaca farms, although they’re relatively good and unique,” he said. she said Monday at a press conference.

In line with the Malaysian family’s aspiration, she said government tourism agencies in Malacca, Selangor and Terengganu will also participate in Sattex with the aim of boosting bilateral tourism exchanges with other states.

Khatijah said the three-day exhibition is expected to attract 15,000 visitors and achieve over RM 1 million in sales through travel packages and promotions.

She added that MASwings and Malindo Air have sponsored 10 air tickets as raffle prizes, while the main ticket prize for Bali and Langkawi is sponsored by vacation club QVC.
