U’khand Govt. connect 17 tourist spots in Kumaon to boost tourism

The Uttarakhand state government will soon link 17 tourist destinations in the Kumaon region of the hill state under the Manaskhand circuit within the next five years. According to reports, the places to be connected under the project will include Kainchi Dham, Jageshwar Temple, Mukteshwar, Golu Devta Temple and Purnagiri Temple.

Referring to this, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that they have made elaborate plans to boost the tourism sector in Kumaon. He added that the Kumaon Range has a lot of potential and a number of scenic spots and places of religious significance. Thus, better road connectivity would be extended to said locations.

He further added that as a pilot project, they will start by developing a parking area near Kainchi Dham followed by other locations.

The CM also added that devotees from home and abroad come to Baba Neem Karoli’s Kainchi Dham, and therefore the development of this tour will allow tourists to visit multiple places in one visit.

Meanwhile, Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj said the department had identified several sites in the six districts of the Kumaon Range with the aim of promoting tourism.

Previously under
the 13 Districts, 13 New Tourist Destinations program, the government identified Munisyari in Pithoragarh district, Kausani in Bageshwar, Katarmal in Almora and Muketeshwar in Nainital, Lohaghat in Champawat and Parag Farm in Udham Singh Nagar. In addition, infrastructure works in all these places were carried out under different themes.
