Most theme parks and attractions have confirmed they will be closed on the day of the Queen’s funeral.

This also includes some overnight accommodation and theme park hotels.

Here are the latest statements from popular UK attractions.

Alton Towers

“Following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Alton Towers Resort joins millions of mourners across the UK and around the world in paying their respects.

“To mark the passing of Her Majesty The Queen and to allow our guests and staff to pay their respects, we will be closing the resort on Monday September 19 and reopening on Tuesday September 20.

“Our resort accommodations will close on the evening of Sunday September 18 and reopen on Tuesday September 20.

They also told customers, “If you need to stay with us on a short stay at Alton Towers Resort, that means we will have to cancel your reservation and a refund will be issued within the next 14 days.”

“To mark the passing of Her Majesty The Queen and to allow our guests and staff to pay their respects, we will be closing the resort on Monday September 19.

“Our Thorpe Shark cabins will be closed on September 18th and 19th.

Drayton Manor

“Following confirmation that the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II will take place next Monday, we have made the decision to close the theme park on that day to allow our guests and staff to reflect and pay their respects.

“We apologize for any disappointment caused to guests planning to visit and appreciate your understanding during this time of national mourning.”

Legoland

“As a sign of respect for Her Majesty The Queen’s State Funeral, the complex will be closed on September 19, 2022.

“This includes hotels on the 18th and 19th. This will allow staff and guests to pay their respects to Her Majesty.

“If you visit us on this date, the team will contact you via email regarding your visit. We appreciate your understanding at this deeply sad time.”

“Paultons will be closed on Monday September 19 to give our guests and staff the opportunity to mark the passing of Her Majesty on the day of the Queen’s State Funeral.
